Update:

America’s Sweethearts will be back for a third season! It was already highly speculated that Netflix’s docu-series, “America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders" would return for another season, but now it’s officially been confirmed. One of the fan-favorites, Charly Barby, announced the message in a video posted by Netflix and the DCC, showing the camera crew in the locker room.

What we know about “America’s Sweethearts” season 3

Directed by Emmy-winner Greg Whiteley (“Cheer”, “Last Chance U”), the hit docuseries follows the dancers through auditions, training camp, and the NFL season. The first season premiered in June 2024 and the second in June 2025. Both seasons followed the cheerleaders from the previous NFL season.

The first two seasons became global hits, with season 2 landing in Netflix’s Top 10 across 19 countries and drawing over 3.3 million views in its debut week. Beyond glamour, the series pulls back the curtain on the physical, mental, and emotional challenges of life as a professional cheerleader.

Season 3 is already in production and will spotlight the newly formed 2025–26 squad under longtime leaders Kelli Finglass and Judy Trammell. Based on the last two seasons, it will likely be released in June 2026, though details have not been confirmed yet. Cowboys executive Charlotte Jones praised the show for highlighting the cheerleaders’ hard work, sacrifices, and personal stories - elements often overshadowed by the football players’ journeys.

The topic of how much (or better-said, how little) the DCC members were paid was a big focus of the last two seasons. But in the second, we saw several leaders step up and fight for the cheerleaders of the future, with their efforts resulting in a 400% increase in pay for the DCC, which takes effect in this 2025 season. As for the focus of the third season? We’ll have to wait and see how it develops. Training camp is over and the final squad has been selected, but there is still more to be filmed as the NFL season begins.

“The world of DCC is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to stories to be told,” said Whiteley. “I’m grateful our crew has another season to keep telling them.”
