Bears to shock NFC North in 2025? Nick Wright thinks so
A Fox Sports One analyst doesn’t believe the Detroit Lions hype and isn’t sold on the Green Bay Packers either.
For the last two years in a row, the Detroit Lions have won the NFC North. The Green Bay Packers, heading into their third year with quarterback Jordan Love and coming off an 11-6 record, seem poised to take the title from them in 2025. But they’ll have to compete with the Minnesota Vikings, who nearly took the title from Detroit themselves last year.
However, one analyst doesn’t believe any of those teams will be at the top of the North at the end of this season.
“I’m not scared of the Packers”
FS1 analyst Nick Wright made a bold prediction on First Things First Friday, picking the Chicago Bears to win the NFC North in 2025 - a worst-to-first turnaround.
Wright explained his reasoning, citing major question marks with all three of the Bears’ division rivals:
- Vikings are starting a rookie QB.
- Packers, despite an 11–6 playoff season, were “smoke-and-mirrorsy.”
- Lions may be reeling from “back-to-back gut-punch” postseason exits.
Wright praised Chicago’s offseason, including the hiring of head coach Ben Johnson, upgrades to the offensive line, and the development of second-year QB Caleb Williams, who he believes had a stronger rookie season than most perceived.
Though the prediction may seem bold to some, history supports such swings. Every year, teams rise from the bottom of the standings to division contenders.
