The Buffalo Bills are serious AFC contenders for the Super Bowl and they are heading to Detroit to face the Lions in a cross-conference matchup on Thanksgiving Day.

The Bills are 7-3 while the Lions have a 4-6 record. The home team has been a regular fixture in Thanksgiving games since 1934, but they have not had much success recently, with a five-game losing streak on this holiday.

However, Detroit is riding a three-game victory streak and has returned home fresh from winning consecutive games on the road, so they cannot be written off just yet.

Bills familiar with Ford Field

The Lions may have home field advantage, but Buffalo recently played and won in Detroit when they moved their home game there due to a snowstorm in the northeast. In fact, the Bills had what could have been their most efficient game at Ford Field, finishing with no turnovers in their 31-23 whipping of the Cleveland Browns.

Caesars Sportsbook has the Bills as 9.5-point favorites, with the over/under for total points set as 54.

Buffalo is favored because they are No. 2 in both scoring offense and total offense, while Detroit is ranked last in both scoring and total defense.

However, the Lions could still keep the fight a close one.

Prediction: Bills 29, Lions 27
