While it’s true that injuries are a part of sports, and most certainly the NFL, the reality is the ‘Thursday Night Football’ game between the Bucs and Bills is absolutely riddled with injuries. Given that both teams remain firmly in contention for a playoff spot, the timing couldn’t be worse as we approach the halfway point of the season.

Bucs vs Bills: What you need to know

The Bucs come into this one on a record of 3-3, while the Bills are sitting on one of 4-3, meaning this game can be considered a critical moment in their campaigns. Yes, the Bucs are coming off two straight losses, but it would be naive to think they won’t be looking to bounce back here and now. As for the Bills, they too are fresh off of a loss but as stated before, have a slightly better record. It will be interesting to see how they cope with a number of injuries to key players.

One thing to keep in mind is that this is in fact a short with a significantly reduced break following Sunday’s round of games. While it’s obvious that both sides will be focused on Thursday night’s game, one has to imagine they will be hoping to avoid any further injury setbacks given that they will have to make a quick turnaround to prepare for Week 9. With no further ado, let’s take a look at the injury reports for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Buffalo Bills.

Bucs vs Bills: The injury report

Buffalo Bills

The big news out of Buffalo is of course the fact that tight end Dawson Knox has been ruled out due to wrist surgery. There’s also fellow tight end Quintin Morris and Baylon Spector who have been sidelined with ankle and hamstring injuries respectively. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Though their injury report may not be as long as the Bills’, it’s by no means short. Off the bat, we’ve got offensive lineman Matt Feiler who’s out with a knee injury, and safety Kaevon Merriweather who still hasn’t recovered from an ankle problem. Yet, the major issue is quarterback Baker Mayfield who after suffering a knee injury is now reportedly a game-time decision for the team. You can see the complete list below:
