Cooper Kupp has finally found a landing spot: signs with Seahawks
Wide receiver Cooper Kupp became a free agent for the first time in his NFL career when the Los Angeles Rams released him, but he’s now found his new home.

The Los Angeles Rams released wide receiver Cooper Kupp officially on Wednesday, though their decision to do so has been known since February. While Kupp made it clear he didn’t agree with the decision, saying he always thought he’d “begin and end in LA”, he seems to have come to terms with it as he sent an emotional goodbye on Thursday, thanking the franchise and the city for his time there.
Eight years of incredible memories.

We talked often about the Rams being back in LA and how we would grow to be something special here. And there was frustration early on around getting the buy in from the people of LA.

While Kupp hasn’t played to the same level he did in 2021, when he won the triple crown on the way to the Rams' Super Bowl victory (and his own Super Bowl MVP), he’s still a hot commodity and had several contenders. Last season, his 710 yards were the second-lowest of his career, yet he still surpassed the double-digit yards per reception mark with 10.6 and totaled 67 catches and six touchdowns, despite dealing with some injuries.

Now, Kupp is heading to Seattle to play for the Seahawks on a three-year, $45 million deal. He’ll earn $15 million a year, which was his asking price.

Kupp’s other suitors included the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Dallas Cowboys.
The Seahawks, after releasing Tyler Lockett and trading DK Metcalf, were left with a huge hole at the wide receiver position opposite Jaxon Smith-Njigba, so this is a huge move for Seattle. It also happens to be Kupp’s hometown, which probably doesn’t hurt for his desire to be there.
