Cowboys injury update: Dak Prescott could finally get his weapons back

The Dallas Cowboys face a tough test against NFC East rivals Washington Commanders in Week 7, but they may be getting some key players back on the field.

Update:

The Dallas Cowboys are not having their best season, to say the least. At 2-3-1 after six weeks, it’s not the offense that’s the problem, but they’ll take a boost if they can get one anyway. And when they face the Washington Commanders in Week 7, they may get a major boost to the offense as three of quarterback Dak Prescott’s weapons could return.

Cowboys receive triple injury boost ahead of Commanders matchup

After a frustrating 30–27 loss to the Panthers, COO Stephen Jones told 105.3 The Fan that receivers CeeDee Lamb and KaVontae Turpin, and rookie guard Tyler Booker could all return in Week 7 against Washington. Lamb and Booker have been sidelined with high ankle sprains, while Turpin has missed two games with a foot sprain.

Prescott has been managing quite well without them, completing over 71% of his passes for 1,617 yards and 13 touchdowns to just three interceptions, plus one touchdown on the ground. With Lamb and Turpin out, Prescott has been leaning heavily on receiver George Pickens and tight end Jake Ferguson, who’ve both stepped up as reliable targets.

Getting Lamb back would be a major boost for Prescott and a Dallas offense that’s performed well despite injuries, though the Cowboys’ struggling defense remains a concern heading into Sunday’s divisional matchup.

The Cowboys will host the Commanders at AT&T Stadium on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET as they look to snap their two-game losing streak and climb back toward .500. You can follow along with all the live coverage right here on AS USA!
