Football fans had high expectations for the Philadelphia Eagles, assuming they would have a 2-0 record by now. However, not many anticipated that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in their first year missing their star quarterback Tom Brady, would also achieve a 2-0 record. The Bucs have triumphed in their last four consecutive head-to-head games against the Eagles, including a dominant 31-15 win in the wild card round of the playoffs two seasons ago. The Eagles are currently favored to come out on top by a five-point margin in this upcoming game, which is scheduled to kick off at 7:15 p.m. Eastern Time on Monday at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles, who currently have a 2-0 record, including 1-0-1 against the spread, are preparing for their upcoming match against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Eagles will head into this game with considerable rest, having secured a 34-28 home victory against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2 Thursday Night Football.

During the match against the Vikings, the Eagles outgained their opponents with 430 yards compared to the Vikings’ 374 yards. Additionally, they won the turnover battle with a score of 4-1. However, their efforts were insufficient to cover the 6-point line, as the Vikings scored two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

D’Andre Swift was a key player for the Eagles in the last game, rushing for 175 yards and a touchdown after carrying the ball 28 times. Jalen Hurts also had an excellent game, completing 18 out of 23 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. Hurts also managed to score two touchdowns on his own during the game. Wide receiver DeVonta Smith contributed with four catches for 131 yards and a touchdown.

The Eagles have been victorious in their last five games, with a 3-1-1 record against the spread. They have won eight of their previous nine road contests, but have only covered the spread three times during that stretch.

It’s worth noting that CB Avonte Maddox will be unavailable for the Eagles due to a pectoral injury. Additionally, S Terrell Edmunds may miss the game due to an illness, with his status currently listed as questionable.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have achieved an unexpected 2-0 record at the start of the season despite many doubting their abilities. Following the retirement of Tom Brady, many anticipated a return to obscurity for the Bucs. However, under the leadership of new quarterback Baker Mayfield, the Buccaneers secured a 27-17 victory over the Bears in their last game. Mayfield demonstrated exceptional proficiency by completing 26 of 34 passes for 317 yards and a touchdown. Mike Evans also displayed remarkable skill by recording 6 catches for 171 yards and a score, while Chris Godwin had 5 catches for 58 yards. Rachaad White made significant contributions, with 73 rushing yards, a touchdown, and 5 passes caught for 30 yards.

The Buccaneers’ performance thus far has been respectable, averaging 23.5 points per game. However, their offensive performance has been underwhelming, as they have only achieved an average of 246 total yards per game, ranking 27th in the league. This includes 173 passing yards per game, ranking 21st, and 73 rushing yards per game, ranking 25th. Defensively, they have performed well by conceding just 17 points per game, ranking 12th in the league. However, the Buccaneers have allowed an alarming 328 passing yards per game, ranking 30th, while conceding just 41 rushing yards per game, ranking 1st in the league. The team has four players listed as questionable, including cornerback Carlton Davis, while running back Chase Edmunds is out until mid-November.

Eagles - Buccaneers odds and predictions

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have had a great start to the season, and Baker Mayfield has played exceptionally well, with no interceptions, no fumbles, and a 104 QB rating in two games. However, the Philadelphia Eagles will be a formidable opponent to beat. Firstly, the Bucs have the worst pass defense in the league, and their best defender, Carlton Davis, might be injured. AJ Brown and Davonta Smith from the Eagles will take advantage of this weakness and score some serious points. Secondly, the Eagles have had a 10-day rest since their last game and will be fully prepared for this game. Though the Bucs may give a tough fight, the Eagles will eventually pull ahead and win the game. Therefore, it is advisable to bet on the Philadelphia Eagles to win, even with the points spread.
