Fantasy Football team of the week: NFL 2023 Week 3
Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings and the Kansas City Chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes are leading this week’s Fantasy Football player rankings.
The fantasy highest-scored quarterback this week, the Kansas City Chiefs’ star, Patrick Mahomes, briefly raised concerns when he appeared to injure his right leg toward the end of Sunday’s game. However, a source confirmed on Monday that Mahomes is in good health and his injury was insignificant.
So far this season, Mahomes has been in fine form, averaging 268 passing yards per game. He has also thrown seven touchdown passes and recorded two interceptions in the first three games. With his injury turning out to be minor, the reigning NFL MVP is expected to be ready without any limitations for Week 4 when the Chiefs face the New York Jets.
Christian McCaffrey was the dominant running back this week in Fantasy ranks. He rushed 18 times for 85 yards and a touchdown and secured all five targets for 34 yards in the 49ers’ 30-12 victory over the Giants on Thursday night.
Even though McCaffrey didn’t put up the same numbers as he did in the first two weeks, it wasn’t required in a game where the San Francisco team re-established a double-digit lead early in the fourth quarter. McCaffrey’s four-yard scoring rush with 1:40 remaining in the second quarter extended a 10-3 lead, which ultimately changed the game’s momentum and eventually helped the team’s victory.
