The Chargers’ left tackle has signed a record-breaking extension with $92m guaranteed.

The Los Angeles Chargers have reached an agreement with left tackle Rashawn Slater on a four-year contract extension worth $114 million, of which $92 million is guaranteed.

The deal makes him the highest-paid offensive lineman in the entire NFL, with an average annual salary of $28.5 million – edging out Tampa Bay Buccaneers tackle Tristan Wirfs, who earns $28.1 million per season.

Since entering the league in the 2021 Draft as the 13th overall pick, the 26-year-old has become a cornerstone of the Chargers’ offensive line. He earned All-Pro honors in his rookie season and has been a consistent presence ever since.
