From Super Bowls to smart massages: Tom Brady teams up with robot company to share his elite recovery regime

Buy shares in a huge club, try your hand at punditry, and invest in a strange business — Tom Brady has completed the sportsperson’s post-retirement mid-life crisis hat-trick!

The former New England Patriots star has now teamed up with Aescape, a — wait for it — robotics-and-AI-powered massage startup. Brady will take on the important-sounding role of Chief Innovation Officer within the company, gifting Aescape exclusive access to his ideology behind longevity, pliability, and musculoskeletal health.

The New York-based company uses AI-driven robotic systems and sensors to map an individual’s body in 3D, working out both pressure and movements to offer personalised massage experiences.

“I want to try to make that available for everybody”

“After 23 years playing professionally, there’s no way I could have accomplished what I did professionally without all the massage work and recovery protocols,” the 7-time Super Bowl champion told CNBC. “The reason why I’m still able to do what I love to do is because of the bodywork, the care that I received on a daily and weekly basis, and I want to try to make that available for everybody.”

Eric Litman, Aescape’s CEO, said: “Tom and his team have built recovery protocols that have kept him and many of the world’s top athletes performing at their highest levels over the years. We’re adapting Tom’s longevity-focused protocols to the Aescape system and building on them in ways that can only be done through robotics and AI.”

“Our technology and significant distribution in the world’s leading hospitality, athletic, and wellness brands will translate elite-level recovery into an ongoing self-care practice that’s accessible to all,” he added.

Aescape was founded in 2017 and operates across more than 100 locations with over 25,000 automated robot arms.
