Why is Zubimendi not playing for Arsenal against Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final?
The Spanish midfielder was left out of Arteta’s XI for the game at the Emirates.

What’s Mikel got against Martins? Mikel Arteta dropped Martín Zubimendi for the Champions League semi-final second leg against Atlético Madrid, with his absence one of a number of large stars left out.
The midfielder started in Spain, as Mikel Arteta’s side drew 1-1 with their opponents in a game marked by controversial VAR decisions.
However, he has not made the cut for the return leg in London, with a dip in form the likeliest reason for his omission, given that there are no concerns regarding his fitness.
Why is Martin Ødegaard not playing for Arsenal against Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League semi-final?
Martin Ødegaard was the second Martin to be dropped for the game having started in the Spanish capital, however this is likely due to a knee issue that caused him to miss The Gunners’ recent win over Fulham in the Premier League.
Arteta said he was available but clearly he is not fit to start, with the manager opting for Eze in his place.
