Giants hold private training session with Shedeur Sanders and raise suspicions about his selection
The New York Giants may be on the verge of repeating history as reports indicate that they are planning a private workout with quarterback Shedeur Sanders.

Back in 2019, the New York Giants drafted quarterback Daniel Jones sixth overall. That didn’t work out too well for them. For the upcoming 2025 Draft, the Giants have the third overall pick and it looks like they may make the same mistake, drafting a mid-level rookie quarterback early.
Giants schedule private workout with Shedeur Sanders
The 2025 NFL Draft is just over a week away, and multiple reports say that the Giants have scheduled a private workout with Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders for this coming Thursday, insinuating they may be interested in taking him third overall.
"[The Giants] are getting to know Shedeur Sanders far more than they are getting to know a lot of other prospects. ... The Giants are not wasting their time nine days from the draft."@PSchrags on the Giants holding a private workout with Shedeur Sanders pic.twitter.com/jGrnr4U6ux

During the offseason, the Giants signed quarterbacks Russell Wilson and Jameis Winston, but neither is a long-term solution. Analysts widely view Sanders as a mid-to-second round talent, as was Daniel Jones when they used an early pick to take him too. Jones ended up being released by the Giants less than two years after extending his rookie contract.
The Tennessee Titans have the top pick and are likely to snag quarterback Cam Ward, who is considered a top quarterback prospect. That would leave either WR/CB Travis Hunter or DE Abdul Carter on the board. If the Giants take Sanders over either of those two, they may live to regret it in the same way they did with Jones.
