The NFL playoffs get underway on Saturday with the start of Wild Card Weekend. Across six games 12 teams will be battling for a place in the divisional finals.

The AFC Wild Card match-up between Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins looks set to be a thrilling game but some adverse weather conditions could affect attendance. Local weather reports are forecasting freezing temperatures and one of the coldest games in Dolphins history.

Ahead of the game tickets are available to purchase on ticket resale sites for as little as $68. With hundreds of tickets available for less than $100 the game at Arrowhead Stadium is comfortably the cheapest of Wild Card Weekend. The second-cheapest is the Dallas Cowboys clash against Green Bay Packers, with tickets starting at $103.

Which Wild Card game is the most expensive?

The freezing conditions and hopes of another deep run in the post-season have made Saturday’s game less appealing for the Kansas City fan base. However elsewhere this weekend there is much more excitement for the Wild Card fixtures.

Detroit Lions hosts Los Angeles Rams in the Lions’ first home playoff game in 30 years. The game will also see current Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford return to Detroit and he will be looking to get one over on his former team.

On Thursday the cheapest resale tickets for Los Angeles Rams - Detroit Lions were available for $396. That is more that twice the price of Pittsburgh Steelers - Buffalo Bills ($141), the second-most expensive tickets of the Wild Card Weekend.

What is the weather forecast for Kansas City?

There’s everything on the line this weekend but the conditions may not be conducive to a great spectacle. Miami travel to Kansas City on Saturday with temperature forecast in the single figures, with a high of 7°F and a low of -8°F.

That is a stark contrast to Miami, where temperatures could reach 81°F on Saturday, albeit with thunderstorms.

If the forecast is correct the Dolphins could be set for the coldest game in franchise history. The previous low was also recorded at Arrowhead Stadium when the mercury was at just 10°F for their game in December 2008. But, in a better omen for the visitors, the Dolphins ran out 38-31 victors that day.
