While it was clear that he was talented when he won his very first Super Bowl, few could have predicted that there would be six more to come, as well as numerous accolades in an NFL career that spanned 23 years. Tom Brady is truly a legend of the game, if not the most legendary of all.

How old was Tom Brady in his first two Super Bowl wins?

At the tender age of 24-years-old, Tom Brady spearheaded a 20-17 New England Patriots win over the St. Louis Rams in what was his very first Super Bowl win back in 2001. On the night, Brady completed 16 of his 27 passes for 145 yards and a touchdown. Fittingly, he was named Super Bowl MVP as he became the youngest quarterback to win a Super Bowl at the time. As we now know, that wouldn’t be the last time.

Following a blip in 2002, when they failed to make the playoffs after losing the tiebreaker to the Cleveland Browns for the final wild card spot, Brady cemented his status as one of the greats of the game. Now 26-years-old, the Patriots’ signal caller led the team to a 14-2 regular season finish, before marching through the post season to the Super Bowl. Once there, Brady threw for 354 yards and three touchdowns, while setting the record for the most completions by a QB in a Super Bowl with 32. In the end the Patriots defeated the Carolina Panthers by a score of 32-29 and for the second time, Brady was named Super Bowl MVP.

How many MVPs does Tom Brady have?

If we don’t count his Super Bowl MVP awards, of which there are five - an all-time record - then Tom Brady has got three NFL MVP awards (2007, 2010 and 2017). It’s worth noting that there are also several other accolades alongside them. Indeed, Brady is a 7-time Super Bowl champion which is the most won by any individual player in NFL history. He’s also been the AFC’s Offensive Player of the Year on five different occasions (2007, 2010, 2011, 2015 and 2016).

Yet perhaps the thing most worth noting about Brady is not the incredible level at which he plays, but rather how long he has done so. Indeed, Tom Brady is the only quarterback to win a Super Bowl in three separate decades. With that, he’s the oldest NFL MVP having been 40-years-old when he won it last, the oldest Super Bowl MVP at age 43, and the oldest QB selected to the Pro Bowl at the ‘ripe old age’ of 44. To punctuate the point, Brady is the only NFL quarterback named to two all-decade teams (2000s and 2010s) and was unanimously named to the 100th Anniversary All-Time Team in 2019.
