Is Tyreek Hill really the fastest player in the NFL? We can find out in June if Noah Lyles accepts the challenge
The Miami Dolphins star has revealed that he’s in training to race the Olympic sprinter and we’ll soon find out exactly how fast he is.

The spat between NFL star Tyreek Hill and Team USA Olympic sprinter Noah Lyles has been running for some time now, but we may finally be getting to the conclusion.
Hill has repeatedly claimed that he is faster that Lyles, who won gold in the 100m at the Paris Olympic Games and has a personal best time of 9.79. The Dolphins wide receiver spoke to reporters on Thursday as the team continues its offseason preparations.
He revealed that he is in training to race Lyles and will be heading to Los Angeles on June 13, the day after the Dolphins finish a three-day minicamp, to race against “some random guys” as part of the preparations.
“Actually I’ve got a race June 13, I’m doing like a little trial race so I can get in shape for that,” Hill said. “I’m looking forward to it.”
It’s not exactly clear whether Hill is free to take part in such an event under his Miami contract. While the risk in a non-contact discipline is minimal, he could still suffer a serious muscular injury while trying to beat the Olympic champion.
So would the team allow the race to go ahead? It was a question that reporters but to Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel on Thursday. His answer was fairly unequivocal: “I have no idea, nor do I care.”
“First, theoretically, if people are competing and it’s helping their training — as long as he doesn’t train to be a sprinter and he’s running routes while he’s doing it, that’s cool,“ he continued.
“Whether I’m going to stand and say whether I’ll allow something — I don’t even know where that stands nor did I know that it existed, so we’ll cross that page. Right now, I’m worried about [practice] and making sure that he aligns properly in formations before he runs routes and doesn’t catch the ball.”
