Quarterback Jalen Hurts has helped the Philadelphia Eagles achieve an impressive 13-1 record in the 2022 NFL season thus far, with the team on the cusp of earning the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

However, he sprained his right shoulder in a game against the Chicago Bears last Sunday.

His participation in their road game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT&T Stadium next Saturday is now in doubt, so the team might have to use QB Gardner Minshew.

The injury occurred late in the third quarter, when on an offensive series Hurts was tackled by line backer Trevis Gipson, after carrying for 3 yards.

The 24-year-old was on the grass for a while without getting up, but continued to play until a 25-20 victory was achieved.

It wasn’t the first time I was late getting up, and it won’t be the last. I did play a very physical game, and it was quite cold. So glad we can find victory and ultimately find our way,” said Hurts.

Jalen Hurts: A big revelation this season

The quarterback passed for 315 yards, had two interceptions and rushed for 61 yards, racking up the three winning touchdowns.

Currently the Eagles are 13-1 and they need just one win to clinch the first seed in the NFC and the Division Title.

Throughout the season Hurts has accumulated 35 touchdowns (22 through the air and 13 on the ground), tying the Philadelphia franchise record which had been held by Randall Cunningham.
