Update:

Jason Kelce and wife Kylie are expecting their fourth child, which means space will be more valuable than ever before on their $6 million, 10-acre Pennsylvania estate. To help combat that, the former Philadelphia Eagles center is planning to build a fourth house on the site, which hasn’t gone down well with everybody.

Kelce neighbors worried about flooding

The Kelces’ neighbors are concerned their construction will lead to their own luxury houses having flooding issues. Not only has the 37-year-old proposed to erect another building on his estate, currently made up of three adjoining properties. He also wants to add a fence to have additional security, as well as level out slopes.

The last of those planned changes is the one that has caused concern, with neighbors worried about it leading to increased water runoff and flooding in the community.

Jason Kelce looking for additional security

Kelce made a personal plea to the local zoning board in Haverford Township, arguing that his family’s “unique” security requirements were a suitable reason for the updates to be agreed to.

“We want to be in this area, we like this area a lot,” Kelce said, per Philadelphia-based TV station WGAL. “Obviously, things for my family are quite unique with the security purposes. We’d like to just deter a little bit of the foot traffic coming in and out of the home.”

The former NFL star also assured his plans would adhere to the “aesthetic of the area,” which had reportedly been another cause for concern.

Kelce has ultimately been granted permission to extend his property, as long as storm water management is implemented to protect the surrounding area and neighboring properties from potential flood risk.
