Flacco ended the first half with 296 yards, three TDs with the one INT, after Jerome Ford took this 50 yard catch and run to the house to stretch the lead to 21 in the final minutes of the second quarter. That was all the Browns needed to cruise to victory as the Cleveland defense held New York to three points in the second half.
The Browns are back in the playoffs for the the second time since 2002. They will be guaranteed the top Wild Card spot if they win their final regular season game against Cincinnati next week.
The Jets looked down and out as the Browns continued air it out on the defense, and the NY offense struggled all night but Jerome Johnson brought NY back to life with the read, the tip and the pick six.
With Amari Cooper on the sidelines after his franchise record performance against the Texans, it was David Njoku and Elijah Moore stepping up for the Browns. Moore was injured late in the first half, but he had 5 catches for 61 yards in the first half. Njoku had 6 catches for 134 yards, most of which came in the first half.
The Browns forced a fumble on the kickoff following Hunt's TD run, but failed a 4th down conversion inside the 10 yard line. Just a few plays later Ronnie Hickman made sure the Browns weren't going to leave points on the field again with this interception that he took it 30 yard to the house.
The Browns would march right down the field thanks to another big catch and run from Njoku who had 100+ yards after the first two drives of the night, and Kareem Hunt ran the ball in on his first carry of the game.
Breece Hall had a couple big plays on the Jets opening drive. He took a first down run for 25 yards to put NY deep into CLE territory and then capped the drive off with this 21 yard TD catch and run as the Jets punched back in what was supposed to be a battle of two of the best defenses in the league.
What a first half it was for the Browns who came out and played like a team who needed just one win away from the playoffs. Joe Flacco and David Njoku combined for 64 yards on two catches in an opening drive that was finished off by Jerome Ford's 7 yard TD catch.

The Browns are back home looking to lock in a playoff spot and are a seven point favorite with the Over/Under set at 33.5.
The Browns have been putting up points lately and the Jets are going to look keep up with Cleveland in attempts to play spoiler. I'm taking the over 33.5, and I think the Browns get the win to secure their postseason spot.

Cleveland's top D and Captain Garrett
Amidst the turmoil on the offensive side the Cleveland defense has been the rock for the Browns this season. The QB troubles have been documented, but let’s not forget that they lost their top running back Nick Chubb to a season ending injury n the first few games of the season. This looked bleak for the fans in the Dog Pound, but the defense continued to give this team chances to win no matter who was in the backfield or under center. Led by Myles Garrett, the Cleveland D gives up a league low 260 points a game, and give up just 160 yards passing which is the best in the league. They also have 25 takeaways which is tied for the second most in the league behind the Ravens, the only problem is, they have given up 32 turnovers (20 INTs and 12 fumbles) this season for a TO differential of -7 which puts them in the bottom seven in the league.
AFC Standings
Having a look at the AFC standings coming into Week 17, we see the Browns at 10-5, two games back of the conference and division leading Baltimore Ravens. The division title and a one seed isn’t too likely considering the way the Ravens are playing, but getting the top spot in the Wild Card would be a big boost considering they could play the winner of the AFC South (currently the sliding Jags) or the AFC West (currently the sliding Chiefs). If they win tonight and Buffalo lose to the Patriots this weekend, that could give them a chance to rest some of their players in the final week of the season.

What a resurgence it has been for Joe Flacco who spent the last few years as a back up, and the last few months watching the NFL season from his couch. When Deshawn Watson went down with a season ending injury the Browns tried out PJ Walker and Dorian Thompson-Robinson under center, but neither convinced head coach Kevin Stefanski too much, so he gave Flacco a call and since then Flacco has looked like a version of himself that we haven’t seen in ages. In his first four games, he has thrown for 300+ yards three times and has 10 TDs while getting picked off 7 times. Flacco knows how to win, especially when he has a great defense on his side. There were a lot of doubts about the Browns playoff chances when Watson went down, but that doubt has turned into hope as the Browns fans believe in this team in a way which they haven’t believed in decades.

Call it a bright spot if you want, although there has been nothing bright about the Jets season. Breece Hall started the season healthy and stayed healthy after suffering a season ending knee injury last year. While the passing game hasn’t done him any favors, he is still averaging 4.2 yards a carry and 4 TDs on the ground with another 537 yards and 3 TDs receiving. This kid looked destined for stardom in the first seven games of last year, and slowly but surely he’s finding his best form. If he and Rodgers are healthy next year, we could be talking about one of the top QB/RB combos in the league.
Jets last game
It was a wild one from the Meadowlands last week. Trevor Siemian got the start for the second straight week and the Jets jumped out to a 17-0 lead in the first six minutes of the game thanks to the defense and special teams making some big plays to open the game. The Jets picked off Sam Howell, blocked a punt and force a three and out in the first three Washington drives of the day. Siemian went for 217 yards, a TD and an INT and Breece Hall had 95 yards and a TD as the Jets led 27-7 going into the final quarter. The Commanders yanked Howell and put in Jacoby Brissett who made a miraculous comeback to put Washington put 28-27 with 4:52 to go in the fourth quarter, but Siemian would run a two minute drill that set up a Greg Zuerlein 54 yard game winning field goal with 5 seconds left on the clock.
Cleveland's last game
Joe Flacco and the Browns traveled to Houston to take on a Texans team that was without rookie sensation CJ Stroud. Flacco continued his incredible comeback run after joining the team in the second half of the season with one of the performances of his career. His 368 yards and three TD day wouldn’t have been possible without Amari Cooper’s 265 yards and two TDs on 11 catches as the duo lead 22-7 having only allowed a kick off return for a TD in the first half. Cooper would catch his second TD of the game in the third quarter, and Kareem Hunt’s 1 yard TD put the game out of reach as the Browns took another step towards locking up a playoff spot.

Hello everyone and welcome to the kickoff to the penultimate week of the regular season! The Cleveland Browns are on the verge of locking up the first Wild Card in the AFC if they can win one of their final two games, and will be hoping to take care of business tonight against a Jets team that is counting down the days until the end of the season. It’s been a rough season for New York. Disaster struck on their first offensive possession of the season when Aaron Rodgers snapped his achilles. The defense did the best they could to keep the team in contention, but a non existent offense finally took it’s toll and the Jets lost five straight to crash out of the playoff picture. They have won two of their last three, and tonight they can play spoiler against a Browns team that has overcome losing their starting QB.

There will only be one postseason hopeful tonight from Cleveland Browns Stadium will be the home team as the Browns look to clinch a playoff spot with a win over the New York Jets.
