According to his attorney, Barry Sorrels, Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph was not the shooter but just a passenger in a vehicle from which shots were fired that ended in the killing of a man last month.

Mr. Sorrels explained that “Kelvin Joseph did not shoot Cameron Ray,” adding that “Mr. Ray’s death is a tragedy, and Kelvin extends his deepest condolences for the family’s loss.” His attorney also said that the police wanted to speak to Kelvin about what happened back in the month of March.

“On the night of March 17, Kelvin was unarmed and was not looking for violence. Unfortunately, he found himself in a situation that escalated without his knowledge or consent. Along with condolences to the Ray family, Kelvin apologizes to the Dallas community for being anywhere near this type of incident. The investigation is ongoing, and we intend to respect the process.”

How is Kelvin Joseph involved?

Dallas police released a video earlier this month showing an incident occurring between two groups of people, of which Joseph and Cameron Ray were part. The video contains images of an SUV that passes by Cameron Ray as he makes his way to a car and opens fire on both of them.

Sadly Cameron Ray, 20, died as he was being transported to the hospital.

According to sources, the Cowboys have asked and encouraged Joseph to talk to the police and share any information that can help the authorities catch those responsible for Cameron Ray’s death..

The team released a statement in regards to the situation.

“The Dallas Cowboys are aware of the tragic incident that occurred in Dallas on March 18. First and foremost, our hearts go out to Mr. Ray’s family and loved ones. The organization is aware of Kelvin Joseph’s possible connection to this incident. We are in contact with Dallas law enforcement and have alerted the NFL office.
