Lamar Jackson’s contract with the Baltimore Ravens will expire at the end of the 2022 NFL season and the quarterback says he wants to extend his relationship with the team that selected him in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

At a press conference during training camp, Jackson assured that he and the Ravens are working on a contract extension in order to keep the QB in Baltimore for several more years.

We are negotiating it right now. We’re talking about it right now,” the QB said. “When we both have free time, both parties.”

Lamar Jackson: Only Ravens management knows what I want

The 2019 MVP subsequently stated that no one but Ravens management knows what he thinks and that they will keep his conversation with them private. Jackson is one of the few players who does not have an agent representing him.

“Nobody knows what I think except the management. I don't like people getting involved in my business. It is my business. If I wanted it to be known, I would publish it," Jackson said.

Lamar just wants to win

Despite all the controversy that his contract extension has generated since the end of the 2021 NFL season, Jackson is clear about his goal in the NFL: to win the Super Bowl.

At the end of the day, I just want to win, I just want to be great. I just want to work with my brothers, I don’t want to let them down. I’m not like that, I’ve never been like that,” Jackson said.
