ManningCast week 1: Who are the guests for Vikings at Bears?
Peyton and Eli are back for another season of their Emmy-winning alternate broadcast, starting with an NFC North clash.
When Peyton Manning scribbles on his whiteboard and Eli deadpans a one-liner, you know Monday Night Football has taken a detour into ManningCast territory. Now entering its fifth season, the brothers’ ESPN2 sideshow has become the rare alternate telecast that’s as anticipated as the game itself... well, almost.
Of course, it wouldn’t be ManningCast without the special guests. For Week 1’s Vikings at Bears match-up on September 8, the lineup is set: Bill Murray and Randy Moss. Check out how they announced it, with some classic Groundhog Day clips:
What time does ManningCast start?
The show kicks off shortly after 8 p.m. ET, streaming live on ESPN2, the ESPN app, and NFL+. Reports state that Peyton and Eli won’t be around for every Monday Night Football game, but they’ll be there for 12 this season, including Lions vs Ravens (Week 3), Chiefs vs Jaguars (Week 5), and a six-week run from Week 8 through Week 13.
The show will also cover Dolphins vs Steelers in Week 15, a Week 18 match-up still to be determined, and once again the Monday Wild Card game in January.
Past seasons have featured everyone from Tom Brady to Barack Obama to Snoop Dogg. The mix of football insiders and offbeat celebrities is part of what keeps the format fresh.
