If you’re coaching one of the biggest franchises in the National Football League then you’ve got to be on quite a pretty penny, right?

Matt LaFleur’s contract details: What is the Packers head coach’s salary and how many years are left?

Although most fans care solely about what goes on during game time on the field of play, there are some who have more than a passing interest in what is deposited into the bank accounts of their team’s players and coaching staff. If a quarterback, head coach or other member of the cast is seen to be performing at their maximum and delivering the goods, then the relatively extortionate salaries are rarely questioned.
When the playbook things are not going their way, however, that’s when eyebrows are raised over the number of zeros on the paycheck.
Matt LaFleur making ends meet in Green Bay
With the Green Bay Packers going up against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, there are Cheeseheads pondering the value of their own coach, Matt LaFleur. For their information, LaFleur is picking up around $5 million per year, based on his reported four-year contract signed in 2019 worth $20 million and extended, quietly, in 2022.
There's no middle ground tonight on this app. The Packers are either going to be Super Bowl contenders with wins over the Lions and Eagles or fans are gonna park outside LaFleur's house wanting to take him to the unemployment line themselves. Can't wait.

That’s not a bad living to be making most would agree, but wait to you see where he ranks alongside his peers.
How does Matt LaFleur’s salary compare to other NFL coaches?
Contracts between coaches and their respective organizations are highly individualized, making it challenging to draw broad conclusions. Compensation packages might include stock options or performance-based bonuses, and not all teams disclose the financial aspects of their coaching and front office staff agreements.
This lack of transparency means that the salaries of some coaches can vary widely across the spectrum. Yet, one widely accepted belief is that the top earner among NFL coaches is also its most triumphant.

Currently, that coach is Andy Reid, who, after facing criticism for his earlier championship losses with the Eagles, has triumphed in three of the last five Super Bowls with the Chiefs.
Last April, he signed a five-year, $100 million extension, making him the top-earning coach in the NFL and all North American sports. At 66, he’s also the only coach with 100 wins at two different franchises. Reid’s success has overtaken Bill Belichick, who earned $20 million in 2023 before retiring.
