What to know about 49ers vs Rams

On the road for the second consecutive week, the Los Angeles Rams will be hoping to get the better of their neighbors when they head to Levi’s stadium on Monday night. With regards to their recent history, the teams were even with one win a piece last year: the San Francisco 49ers winning the first game 27-24 and the Rams taking the second 20-17. Where there most recent games are concerned, the Rams got the better of the Cardinals last Sunday in a 20-12 win. It should be said, that it wasn’t a particularly stellar game for Los Angeles, but it was encouraging to see both WR Cooper Kupp and RB Cam Akers get on the board.

On the other side of the divide, San Francisco just failed to get the win - they were close - as they fell to the Denver Broncos by the narrow margin of 11-10. Indeed, the game was as close as it was predicted to be by the oddsmakers. Yet, where narratives are concerned, there will undoubtedly be critique lingering about the play of QB Jimmy Garoppolo. That’s to say, it was below par. On the night Jimmy G did get a touchdown, but he also threw an interception and fumbled the ball once. Where the defense was concerned, it was slightly better with the unit registering four sacks for a loss of 24, however, it ultimately wasn’t enough. Record wise, the Rams are now 2-1 while the 49ers are the opposite with 1-2. As for how they enter the game, the Rams have only allowed one rushing touchdown and the 49ers have the fewest passing touchdowns allowed in the league. This one should be interesting.
