Update:

A shocking season for the Dallas Cowboys last year never got off the ground, with the entire franchise struggling constantly throughout a campaign that saw them mired in the mud.

They finished the campaign with a dreary 7–10 record, putting them 3rd in the NFC East, behind the Commanders and eventual Super Bowl winners, the Eagles.

As well as their on-field disaster, the pressure in also high off the grass, with Micah Parsons still waiting on a new contract. One opposition player, Myles Garrett, thinks that the Cowboys should stop kicking the can down the road and pay Parsons top dollar.

‘I think he deserves whatever, the guy is special’

Garrett told Abby Jones of DLLS Sports that “I think he deserves whatever he’s earned. I mean, the guy is special. Once I got the chance to train with him, I’ve seen his work ethic, I’ve seen how he attacks the weights, running.”

He’s 100% committed to his craft”, Parsons added, “and getting better every day, and [he’s] someone who produces on the field and has that dedication to the game. He should get every penny he’s owed.”

Last season, Micah Parsons played 13 games for the Dallas Cowboys, amassing 43 total tackles, 12 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and 1 pass defended. According to Pro Football Focus, he ranked 3rd among all defensive ends with 14 sacks, a 91.6 pass-rush grade and 70 pressures.

As for Garrett, in the 2024 regular season, he played all 17 games for the Cleveland Browns, recording 47 total tackles, 14 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 1 pass defended. He also led the league with 22 tackles for loss, and earned both his sixth Pro Bowl selection and fourth First-Team All‑Pro nod.
