Myles Garrett, the Cleveland Browns' star defensive end, has requested a trade with the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl.

In a statement, Garrett expressed his desire to compete on the biggest stages and his ultimate career goal of becoming a Super Bowl champion. This decision comes as the Browns finished the regular season bottom of the AFC North with a 3-14 record.

Myles Garrett: “The toughest decision of my life”

As a kid dreaming of the NFL, all I focused on was the ultimate goal of winning a Super Bowl - and that goal fuels me today more than ever,” Garrett wrote. “My love for the community of Northeast Ohio and the incredible fanbase of the Cleveland Browns has made this one of the toughest decisions of my life. These past eight years have shaped me into the man that I am today.

“While I’ve loved calling this city my home, my desire to win and compete on the biggest stages won’t allow me to be complacent. The goal was never to go from Cleveland to Canton, it has always been to compete for and win a Super Bowl. With that in mind, I have requested to be traded from the Cleveland Browns.”

During his eight years with the Browns, Garrett only made it to the playoffs twice, reaching the Divisional Round in the 2020 season, where the team lost 22-17 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Cleveland Browns ended the regular season with one of the worst records in the NFL. As a result, they have secured the second overall pick in the NFL Draft, where they might select Penn State’s Abdul Carter to replace one of their defensive stars.

Where could Myles Garrett end up in 2025?

Garrett is coming off a season with 14 sacks and is even nominated for Defensive Player of the Year at the NFL awards, a title he won in 2023. Over his career, Garrett has amassed a total of 102.5 sacks.

Potential destinations for Garrett - considering his desire to win a Super Bowl, the betting odds for his next team are led by the Philadelphia Eagles and the Buffalo Bills, both at +650.
