Christmas Day is almost here and the NFL’s gameday schedule will keep football-lovers entertained all day on Dec. 25.
NFL Christmas Day showdown: These are the must-watch match-ups in 2025 | Xmas Day schedule
After a hugely successful Christmas double-header in 2024 the NFL is adding a third festive fixture to this year’s line-up.
There are six teams playing on Christmas Day 2025, with the eyes of the world watching along at home as a lot is on the line for most of the teams involved.
This year’s holiday fixture list sees the Dallas Cowboys visit the Washington Commanders in a game streamed live on Netflix. The other Netflix offering is the Detroit Lions’ trip to the Minnesota Vikings.
Those two games will be televised before the sole Amazon Prime game, which will be a meeting between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium.
The battle of the streaming services will take center stage on Dec. 25, with Netflix and Amazon Prime going head-to-head. Amazon Prime thought it had bagged the biggest draw of all, with the Kansas City Chiefs, but KC is out of playoff contention and without Patrick Mahomes.
The Washington Commanders vs the Dallas Cowboys game looked like it would be one of the most interesting on Christmas, but neither team has anything to play for as they’re both eliminated from playoff contention.
Streaming platforms are increasingly looking to lean into the world of sport, with the NFL key among the opportunities. In a sliding market the addition of live sports to their offerings has allowed Netflix to perform well and revenue was actually up by 12.5% the first quarter of 2025 in comparison to the same period in 2024.
NFL Christmas Day schedule:
- 1 p.m.: Cowboys vs Commanders on Netflix
- 4:30 p.m.: Lions vs Vikings on Netflix
- 8:15 p.m.: Broncos vs Chiefs on Prime Video
