Update:

For the sixth consecutive year, NFL fans will be able to feast on festive football while also tackling a plate of turkey, with three games scheduled for Christmas Day in 2025.

Netflix made its first move into the world of the NFL last Christmas, streaming two games on December 25, 2024. It will repeat the experiment this year. The party has grown, too. Thursday Night Football broadcaster Prime Video has joined in, with Christmas Day falling on a Thursday in 2025.

NFL Christmas Day games 2025: times and how to watch

  • Dallas Cowboys at Washington Commanders, Netflix

4:30 p.m. ET

  • Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings, Netflix

7:15 p.m. ET

  • Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs, Prime Video

At first glance, it looks like a bumper Christmas Day schedule. In reality, though, there is not a huge amount riding on these games. Of course, the NFL could not have known that when the matchups were selected months in advance.

Early kickoffs with little at stake

In the opening game, both the Dallas Cowboys and Washington Commanders have already been eliminated from postseason contention.

The same is true for the Minnesota Vikings, who enter the late afternoon matchup with nothing left to play for. The Detroit Lions, however, are in a very different situation. They will almost certainly need a win to keep any realistic playoff hopes alive.

One contender, one shock elimination

The nightcap features two teams at opposite ends of the expectation spectrum. The Denver Broncos have already booked their playoff spot, although they are still battling to secure the AFC’s No. 1 seed.

The real surprise, of course, is Kansas City. The Chiefs, who reached the last three Super Bowls, have nothing on the line after missing the postseason for the first time since 2014. Not exactly the Christmas gift their fans were hoping for.
