Update:

Billie Joe Armstrong is known the world over as the frontman of Green Day, the punk rock trio whose music has shaped generations.

But beyond his role in music, the singer also has a deep affection for classic automobiles, particularly iconic models from the 1960s. Armstrong’s fascination with vintage cars is well known; his notable collection of retro vehicles ranges from American muscle to compact European classics.

Among these is a Fiat 500 from 1969, a charming Italian city car that the musician once owned and even put up for auction. He has also been associated with several Chevrolet Novas, classic American compacts that speak to a distinct automotive era.

In early 2022, that love of classic metal took an unexpected turn when Armstrong publicly announced that his cherished 1962 Chevrolet Nova II had been stolen from outside his home in Costa Mesa, California.

Fortunately, thanks to tips from the public and the work of local police, the vehicle was found abandoned a few miles away and returned to him, largely intact.

Another Chevy Nova that once belonged to Armstrong is the 1963 Nova SS convertible, a sportier variant of the Nova line. With its open-top design and performance-oriented Super Sport trim, the SS convertible is typical 1960s American automotive flair. Armstrong offered this particular car at auction in 2018, bundling it with a signed guitar and giving fans and collectors a chance to own a piece of his personal history.

Super Bowl LX will take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, with the game scheduled for Sunday, February 8, 2026. The NFL has set a 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time kickoff for the fixture, which translates to 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time locally at the stadium.
