September 5th can’t come quickly enough, but if your are twirling your fingers in agony of the week long wait that lies ahead, here is a little information to get you even more pumped for kickoff.

NFL Awards preseason odds

If you are a gambler, enjoy this list of season long prop bets right here. We know you have your favorite team, and your favorite player, but putting a little action down on an MVP or Offensive Rookie of the Year can spice the season up a bit that much more. If you aren’t a gambler, don’t let this information sway you, but you can still take it into account as we inch towards the start of the regular season.

Our good friends at FanDuel have laid out the odds for the favorites to take home each of the NFL Awards at the end of the season. The odds are up to date as of Friday, August 30th 2024.

We have only listed the Top 7 favorites for each award, but if you want a more in-depth look at the entire list, check out Draft Kings or vegasinsider.com. The highlighted ones are our picks for each of the awards.

MVP

  • Patrick Mahomes (+450)
  • Josh Allen (+800)
  • Joe Burrow (+1000)
  • C.J. Stroud (+1000)
  • Jalen Hurts (+1400)
  • Jordan Love (+1400)
  • Lamar Jackson (+1500)

We know this is a quarterback only award, so it’s no surprise to see nothing but gunslingers on this list. Three QBs have won the last six MVPs, two of them are on this list, and the other is Aaron Rodgers (+2500). Stroud has lot on his shoulders, Allen doesn’t have half the team around him that he has had. If Burrow can get through a season healthy, he might have a chance. Jackson knows how hard it is to win back-to-back, so I’m going with the obvious choice of Patrick Mahomes who has a revamped WR corp.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

  • Tyreek Hill (+750)
  • Christian McCaffery (+850)
  • CeeDee Lamb (+1100)
  • Ja’Marr Chase (+1200)
  • Justin Jefferson (+1200)
  • Amon-Ra St. Brown (+1600)
  • Breece Hall (+1600)

Since the MVP is dominated by QBs, the Offensive POY is reserved for the rest of the league. If Tyreek Hill gets 2,000 yard receiving, then he is a shoe in, but that’s not going to be the easiest thing to reach. I’m going with one of the other receivers on the list. Give me Ja’Marr Chase with a healthy Burrow back under center, he’s going to remind us of how much of a game changer he is.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR

  • Micah Parsons (+500)
  • Myles Garrett (+600)
  • T.J. Watt (+700)
  • Maxx Crosby (+1000)
  • Nick Bosa (+1000)
  • Aidan Hutchinson (+1400)
  • Christ Jones (+2500)

It’s tough to say who the most dominant player on the list is. Garrett, Bosa and Watt are the last three winners of the DPOY, so I think it’s Parsons turn. Obviously being on a good defense helps you win the award, so his teammates might have to step up and help their anchor.

OFFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

  • Caleb Williams (+120)
  • Jayden Daniels (+600)
  • Marvin Harrison Jr. (+650)
  • Bo Nix (+1100)
  • Drake Maye (+1400)
  • Malik Nebers (+1500)
  • Xavier Worthy (+1900)

I know who everyone is going to want to win the award. Caleb Williams has been a media darling for the last few years, and it’s going to take something special to knock him off track for Offensive Rookie of the Year. He is equipped with a better team than Jayden Daniels, but don’t sleep on Marvin Harrison Jr. who I think is going to have a historic rookie season in Arizona.

DEFENSIVE ROOKIE OF THE YEAR

  • Laiatu Latu (+400)
  • Dallas Turner (+440)
  • Jared Verse (+1000)
  • Byron Murphy II (+1100)
  • Chop Robinson (+1400)
  • Terrion Arnold (+1400)
  • Quinyon Mitchell (+1600)

Can’t say I’ve done as much studying of the rookie defenders coming into the league this year. I love a defender that has a name is worthy of a Rookie of the Year, and there are plenty to choose from on this list. Chop is my man, Latu is a killer, but I’m going with Dallas Turner. His parents knew they had a football player on their hands as soon as they named him Dallas.

COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR

  • Aaron Rodgers (+200)
  • Joe Burrow (+230)
  • Kirk Cousins (+430)
  • Anthony Richardson (+750)
  • Nick Chubb (+1500)
  • Daniel Jones (+1800)
  • Sam Darnold (+2000)

This might be the toughest one of all to call. Joe Flacco won the award at 39 years old, so don’t count out Rodgers at 40. Having said that, I’m not willing to put my money on a middle aged QB to come off an Achilles injury and dominate the league. That means Kirk is out too. Let’s go with Burrow. He’s young, he’s knows what it takes to get to the Super Bowl, and this year I think he’s swinging for the fences.

COACH OF THE YEAR

  • Matt Eberflus (+900)
  • Jim Harbaugh (+1000)
  • Raheem Morris (+1100)
  • Matt LaFleur (+1400)
  • DeMeco Ryans (+1400)
  • Shane Steichen (+1500)
  • Johnathan Gannon (+1600)

Look at this. It wasn’t so long ago that Matt Eberflus had a foot and a half out of the Windy City and now he’s the favorite to win the Coach of the Year. I don’t know if I’m completely buying into to the Bears and Eberflus just yet, but I do think his NFC North counter part, Matt LaFleur, is going to have a huge season with Jordan Love and and that defense in the Frozen Tundra.
