Odell Beckham Jr. is attracting plenty of interest after denying retirement rumor
Beckham says he’s not hanging up his cleats - and the wide receiver is reported to be a target for multiple NFL franchises.
Odell Beckham Jr. found himself at the center of a false retirement rumor, but the veteran wide receiver quickly set the record straight. Now, with the 2025 NFL season just weeks away, interest in signing the free agent is heating up, according to NFL Network.
Beckham has been a free agent since being released by the Miami Dolphins in December 2024. With training camps underway, multiple teams are said to be exploring the possibility of adding the LSU product to their roster.
The challenge with Beckham lies in his durability. Since tearing his ACL in 2021, he’s appeared in just 23 games. Last season, he suited up for nine contests with the Dolphins, recording nine catches for 55 yards.
OBJ hints at possible Rodgers reunion
In a recent episode of the Club Random Podcast hosted by Bill Maher, Beckham revealed he’s spoken to Aaron Rodgers about potentially teaming up in Pittsburgh. He also shared that he was nearly drafted by the Steelers back in 2014.
“I love him - we’ve had conversations,” Beckham said. “I won’t say that it’s not a possibility and I won’t say that I haven’t had any communication.
“I was actually supposed to be drafted to the Steelers. That was the meeting that I had, that I was like, ‘I think I’m going to the Steelers.’ And the Giants ended up taking met at [No.] 12. The Steelers had the 16th pick, maybe.”
Beckham was slightly off - the Steelers actually held the 15th overall pick in that draft, which they used to select Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier. Tragically, Shazier’s career was cut short due to a spinal injury.
