Update:

Patrick Mahomes didn’t just celebrate his induction into the Texas High School Football Hall of Fame at the weekend. He used the moment to announce something bigger – something that hints at a legacy beyond the NFL.

Mahomes building a legacy

The Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback, fresh off a season where he threw for 3,928 yards and 26 touchdowns, surprised fans by launching a new initiative with Adidas. Fifteen high schools will now join “Team Mahomes,” meaning those schools’ football uniforms will carry his personal Gladiator logo - starting with his alma mater, Whitehouse High School in Texas.

“Whitehouse, Texas, is where it all began,” Mahomes said. “It’s an honor… and this is just the beginning.”

It’s a subtle but calculated move from the two-time MVP. Rather than endorsing a product or teasing another contract restructure, he’s planting roots deeper into youth football... his kind of football.
