Las Vegas may be hosting its first ever Super Bowl this weekend, but this won’t be the first time that either the San Francisco 49ers or the Kansas City Chiefs have seen NFL action at Allegiant Stadium.

What’s more, neither team has ever lost at the arena, which is home to the Las Vegas Raiders. Since Allegiant Stadium was opened in 2020, the 49ers and the Chiefs have a combined 5-0 record in Sin City.

What are the Super Bowl teams’ results at Allegiant?

Kansas City account for most of that unblemished record, having won four out of four road games against the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium, including a 31-17 victory at the 65,000-capacity arena in Week 12 of the current season.

Andy Reid’s men also triumphed at the stadium in Week 18 in 2022, in Week 10 in 2021, and in Week 11 in 2020.

As they play in the same division as the Raiders, the Chiefs go to Allegiant Stadium at least once as a season - and are not only unbeaten there, but have enjoyed an average margin of victory of 15.75 points.

Chiefs' results vs Raiders at Allegiant Stadium

  • 2020: Chiefs 35-31 Raiders
  • 2021: Chiefs 41-14 Raiders
  • 2022: Chiefs 31-13 Raiders
  • 2023: Chiefs 31-17 Raiders

San Francisco, meanwhile, were 37-34 overtime winners in their sole visit to the stadium to face the Raiders, in Week 17 of the 2022 campaign.

While the Chiefs have greater experience than the 49ers of playing at Allegiant, this will be the first time the Missourians have ever been involved in a Super Bowl staged under a closed roof. All five of Kansas City’s appearances in the fixture since 1967 have been in open-air stadiums.

The 49ers, on the other hand, have contested three Super Bowls in enclosed arenas, winning two of their five NFL crowns on these occasions.
