Tennessee Titans 27 vs 17 Green Bay Packers summary: stats, and highlights | NFL Week 11
The Tennessee Titans won their seventh game in their last eight on Thursday night when they held off the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. Ryan Tannehill threw for 333 yards and two touchdowns in the 27-17 victory.
Titans let it fly on frigid night in the Tundra
It was an icy night in Green Bay as temperatures dropped well below freezing. All indications pointed at the Titans using a steady dose of Derrick Henry, but instead Mike Vrable’s team relied on Ryan Tannehill’s arm to lead them to victory and they used that game plan from the get go.
Tannehill threw the ball five time on the first drive, completing four of those passes including a 14 yard strike to Dontrell Hillard for the opening touchdown of the night. The Titans ran a steady dose of Henry who ran for 84 yards on 28 carries, but it seemed like every time Tennessee needed a big play, Tannehill came through.
Green Bay would punch back with a TD drive of their own at the end of the first quarter. In a moment of brilliance, Aaron Rodgers ran a quick snap just before the first quarter clock hit zero and caught the Titans offside. Knowing he had a free play, he launched the ball into the end zone for who other than Christian Watson, who was coming off a three TD performance against the Dallas Cowboys.
Henry was jack of all trades
The Packers came up with a huge defensive stop on 4th an inches with the Titans inside their 10 yard line, but couldn’t do anything with their next possession. After holding the Pack to three and out, the Titans punched it into the end zone right before halftime with a four yard touchdown run from Henry to go up 14-6 at half.
Matt LeFleur’s team came out of the break with the ball, and managed a field goal on their first drive, but Tennessee answered with a touchdown as Derrick Henry broke loose. He may not have had a terrific game on the ground, but in the opening drive of the second half Henry had a 42 yard reception on a screen pass and then threw for a TD on a hand off turned jump-pass to Austin Hooper to stretch the lead to 20-9.
Tennessee was not out of the woods yet. Rodgers hit a couple big passes to Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard to bring the Packers inside the red zone and Rodgers found Watson for his second touchdown of the night, and fifth in the last four days. The lead was cut to three in the final minutes of the third quarter, but Tannehill had an answer.
Hooper's second TD seals the deal
Hooper would polish of the night on the next drive with his second touchdown catch of the night, this one delivered by Tannehill who threw a strike between two defenders and let the defense do the talking from there on out.
Tannehill went 22/27 for 333 yards and two TDs. He did throw a late interception, but the Packers weren’t able to capitalize on the turnover. They went three-and-out twice and turned it over on downs in four plays in their next three possessions as Aaron Rodgers threw for just 227 yards and two touchdowns on Thursday night. It wasn’t enough at the end of the game and the boo birds started to sing in Lambeau as the Packers dropped their sixth in seven games. They will head into their bye week still in the hunt, but with a lot of work to do in the final stretch of the season.
The Titans now improve to 7-3 and have a solid grasp on the AFC South as then turn their attention to the top spot in the conference. They have a spotlight match up with the Bengals next week in a rematch of last year’s division playoff game.
Tannehill had 333 yards of offense on 22 completions, but none were better than this TD strike to Hooper.
The Packers, and specifically Waton, weren't done just yet. They cut the let to three with this TD at the of the third quarter to give Watson his 5th TD in the last two games.
Henry did a little bit of everything on Thursday. He ran for 87 yards, had another 45 yards receiving and threw for a TD to Hooper to put the Titans up two scores.
Henry didn't get much room to run against the Packers defense, but Tannehill found him on this screen pass which he took for 42 yards.
The Titans forced the Packers to a three and out after the turnover on downs and shortly after Derrick Henry put Tennessee up 14-6 just before the halftime break.
After the TD drive the Packers got a huge stop on 4th and short to stop the Titans drive inside the ten, and it seemed like that was going to sway momentum in Green Bay's favor.
Christian Watson has been having himself a week. Just days after scoring three TDs against the Cowboys, he start the Packers off with a TD on the last play of the first quarter.
When everyone in the world was thinking the Titans would come out running the ball, they went with a pass heavy first drive to catch the Packers off guard and Tannehill found Hilliard for the games first TD.

The Titans can kneel out the clock and will move on to 7-3 after Week 11!!!

Henry didn't get much room to run, but on his last one of the first half he took it 4 yards into the endzone.
The Packers came up with a 4th and short stop, but went three and out on the next possession.
The Packers punched right back with a brilliant play as the first quarter was winding down and he found Watson on a free play in theh back of the end zone.
Tannehill marched the TItans down the field on the first possession of the game and capped it off with this 14 yard hook up to Hilliard.
The Packers have only gained 96 yards, largely because the offense has been on the sidelines.
Rodgers has 74 yards and a TD on 8/11 and Jones has just 20 yards on 6 carries.
The Titans had almost 20 minutes of possession in the first half and gained 171 yards, most of them through the air.
Tannehill has 127 yards and a TD on 14/18 pass and Derrick Henry has 48 yards on 17 carries. He has been contained, but he only gets better as the game goes on.
Rodgers pass is incomplete and that will bring an end to the first half.
The fans at Lambeau are booing the Packers off the field!! This game is well withing reach, I think that's a bit drastic from the crowd, although the cold might be making them a bit grouchy.

According to Bet365.com, the Packers come into tonight as three point favorites at home, with the Over/Under is 40.5. The Packers return home, where they have been decent this year, but this game sets up more for the Titans to ground and pound the Packers. I’m taking the Titans with the points, and I may throw a little juice on the under.
Game plan: handoffs to Henry
Derrick Henry has been the anchor of the offense for the last seven years. He has been the most dominant running back since leaving the University of Alabama for Nashville in 2016. Henry has five games over 100 yards in the Titans nine regular season games, including his 219 yard game against the Texans in which he scored two TDs. He is currently first in rushing attempts (160), second to Saquon Barkley in yards (923) and third in TDs with 9 this season. Anyone who was doubting Henry before the season should have no lingering doubts anymore.
Rodgers on the rise?
Aaron Rodgers has not been great this year. He doesn’t deserve all of the blame. His offensive line has been dramatically disappointing and his receivers have serious problems getting open, but last week Christian Watson had a break out game with 4 receptions for 107 yards and three touchdowns. If Rodgers can get his receivers on the right page, then the offense will start to take off for Green Bay.
Frigid temps in Lambeau
Green Bay looked like a winter wonderland last night as the snow fell fast and hard through the evening and into the early morning. Tonight’s forecast in Lambeau Field calls for temperatures to drop down to 24 degrees, with light winds, but no snow is predicted.. The wind chill will feel like 15 degrees, so get ready for a frigid kickoff to Week 11 tonight from Lambeau.

The King lives for nights like this. Derrick Henry is no stranger to the spotlight and tonight should suit his strengths perfectly. The Packers rush defense is one of the worst in the league, and tonight’s conditions will force the Titans to feed The King early and often at Lambeau.
Green Bay arriving
Aaron Rodgers and the Packers finally got the monkey off their back with a win last week against the Cowboys. Their last win at home came against the New England Patriots at the beginning of October. Three of their four wins have come at home, and the Packers QB1 will be looking to make it four of five tonight.
