These NFL teams have the worst playoff record over the last 25 years
Certain fans will know that their favourite team will appear in the list below. Brace yourselves.

With the eyes of the world watching as we enter the postseason, teams can find themselves in the history books for the wrong reasons. Many supporters will claim that their team struggles in the playoffs, but which NFL side has the worst record in post-season fixtures?
From January 2000 to January 2025, two teams have a post-season win percentage of less than .250: the Cleveland Browns and the Miami Dolphins. Here’s the ten worst playoff records of the past quarter of a century...
Worst NFL playoff records: 1999-2023
- Miami Dolphins (1-6), .143
- Cleveland Browns (1-3), .250
- Washington Commanders (2-5), .286
- Dallas Cowboys (4-10), .266
- Detroit Lions (2-4), .333
- Chicago Bears (3-6), .333
- Cincinnati Bengals (5-9), .357
- Los Angeles Chargers (5-9), .357
- Tennessee Titans (5-9), .357
- Minnesota Vikings (5-9), .357
Lions win sees improved playoff record
Last year was a historic one for Detroit sport as the Lions won a playoff game for the first time in 32 years. It had been 30 years since Motor City hosted a post-season match and Detroit star Eminem was in attendance to watch a hard-fought victory over the Los Angeles Rams.
They went on to beat the Tampa Bay Bucanneers in a fascinating tie to move away from the top spot and even off the podium on the ‘leaderboard’, wiggling down to a .333 rating with a 2-4 record, leaving them in fourth position.
This year also saw the Atlanta Falcons (6-9, .400) drop out of the top ten, with the Titans moving into the naughty list, surpassing the team who finished second in the NFC South this year.

With the Dolphins falling to the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card Round last time out, they were unable to improve their record and now stand as the side with the worst recent numbers in NFL history.
