Update:

If you’re not a Dallas local, you may not be familiar with SportsRadio 1310 The Ticket, and therefore unfamiliar with Gordon Keith’s spectacular “Fake Jerry”. As a former Dallas resident myself and even someone who briefly worked at The Ticket, let me tell you - you are missing out. But it is my great pleasure to introduce you to Fake Jerry before he goes big on national TV.

From radio to cartoon: Gordon Keith’s “Fake Jerry” goes national on Adult Swim

Gordon Keith is one of the hosts of The Ticket’s morning show, “The Musers”. The Ticket is known for doing several bits in which they have different characters, the majority (if not all) of which are voiced by Keith. But without a doubt, the best character on the station is Fake Jerry, Keith’s impression of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

The Musers will do a phone call with Fake Jerry on a weekly basis during the NFL season, usually after a Cowboys game, and at random times throughout the year as well. The voice is uncannily similar to the real Jones, and the things he says so bizarre you might just think it’s actually Jerry.

The only character who might be better than Fake Jerry is his son, Fake Jerry Jones Jr., who is portrayed as an actual child who often throws tantrums. It is hilarious.

Keith’s antics have been going on for nearly three decades, but now he’s taking Fake Jerry to a national audience. After receiving an email from a casting agent, Keith will now voice a cartoon version of “Jerry” in an upcoming Adult Swim animated series, “Keeping Up With The Joneses”.

“We had this big Zoom call, and I was pretty intimidated by this,” Keith told The Dallas Morning News. “I’ve never done anything like that before in my life. I’m gonna read for a part on a national show as an actor? In that ridiculous voice?!

The show, set to premiere in 2026 on Cartoon Network, follows a family trying to fit in with their wealthy Dallas neighbors. Keith, who auditioned remotely, says this voice acting role fulfills a childhood dream.

The real Jerry is very aware of his fake character and Keith has even done the impression in front of him several times, saying that Jones seems to really get a kick out of it. Now, he plans to break the news about the Adult Swim role to the real Jerry Jones himself.

“I’m gonna say, ‘Hey, look, I just want you to know that there’s a cartoon of you that’s about to come out nationally. And I have wronged you. And I just want to apologize for what you’re about to see.’ And then I’ll walk away and see if he has any reaction.”
