Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady may have had a bad start to the 2022-23 season, but he continues to make NFL history.

During the Buccaneer’s 16-13 victory over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday, he became the first quarterback in the league to reach 100,000 passing yards counting both the regular season and postseason, courtesy of a 15-yard pass to running back Leonard Fournette in the fourth quarter.

Brady leads by a mile

Heading into the game, the seven-time Super Bowl winner needed just 164 yards to reach the milestone.

To illustrate how impressive reaching the 100,000 mark is, the closest to the 45-year-old’s number is New Orleans Saints star Drew Brees with 85,724 yards, followed by Indianapolis Colts legend Peyton Manning with 79,279.

Brady’s record difficult to match

Current star quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills would each need to rack up around 5,000 yards each season for 14 more years to match Brady’s tally.

The Bucs QB holds numerous other records, including most Super Bowl trophies, most completions and touchdown passes, most passing yards, among many others, all attesting to his skill and longevity.

With the Buccaneers’ comeback win over the Rams, they are now 4-5 and share the top spot in the NFC South with the Atlanta Falcons.
