Travis Kelce on the “unspoken” secret behind the Chiefs' success
The Chiefs tight end has spoken about the relationship he has with his teammates ahead of Championship Sunday.
Without a doubt, the name Travis Kelce will be on the lips of many over the next days, weeks and possibly months. The Kansas City tight end has the chance to guide his side to what would be an unprecedented third Super Bowl victory in a row.
Ahead of the tie against the Buffalo Bills, one of the strongest teams in the NFL, Kelce spoke to ESPN where he opened up on what makes his Chiefs side such a formidable unit on the grass.
When asked about the on-field organisation and the way they improvise mid-game, Kelce explained that “it’s kind of unspoken at this point, that’s the biggest thing that people don’t really see; how much time we put together on the field and talking football.
Mahomes has ‘an undeniable desire’ to win
On his relationship with Mahomes, the other half to the star-duo on the field, Kelce admitted that he “would love to say there was method to the madness, but it is the combination of two guys who love to play the game and just have an undeniable desire to keep finding ways to win.”
Kelce was then asked about how they have managed the new faces in the squad and how the cohesion has been managed. While he gladly explained the ‘problems’ of the season, he was clear in who deserves the credit: “We’ve shown we can win a Championship. Everyone’s been throwing their best shots. It’s not easy to do, to bring along new faces that haven’t been here with you. But it goes back to one guy: Andy Reid.”
