Travis Kelce’s slim new look has Chiefs fans - and Swifties - buzzing

The Kansas City Chiefs begin mandatory minicamp next week and as they get ready to start their revenge tour, tight end Travis Kelce will be showing up with a noticeably slimmer appearance.

Kelce has been training in Florida this summer and reportedly lost 25 pounds this offseason. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, Kelce “vowed to change” after playing heavier in 2024 and has followed through. Though he skipped voluntary OTAs and was recently spotted at a Stanley Cup Final game with girlfriend Taylor Swift, Kelce is set to return to practice Tuesday.

The 34-year-old tight end is entering his 13th NFL season after a down year statistically - just 823 receiving yards and three touchdowns, both regular-season career lows. Despite speculation about retirement following the Chiefs’ Super Bowl loss to the Philadelpha Eagles, Kelce confirmed in February he’s coming back, determined to end on a stronger note.

“I’m coming back, for sure,” Kelce told Pat McAfee. “Gonna try and get to the best shape I’ve been this offseason and get back to the mountaintop. Got a real bad taste in my mouth with how I played in that last game and how I got the guys ready for battle. I can’t go out like that!!!!”

Fowler also hinted that this season might be Kelce’s “last dance”, but teammate Patrick Mahomes says Kelce’s energy and focus suggest otherwise. The Chiefs open their 2025 season in Brazil on Friday, September 5 against the Los Angeles Chargers as they begin their AFC title defense.
