Update:

The 2025 NFL season hasn’t even begun and trouble may already be brewing for the Miami Dolphins, with Tyreek Hill launching a very public dig at star teammate De’Von Achane.

What did Tyreek Hill say about De’Von Achane?

Speaking to the reporters after Dolphins practice, the straight-talking quarterback was asked what he would do to help fix Miami’s short yardage struggles in the run game. His response caught everyone in attendance off guard.

Take De’Von out on third down,” Hill answered, followed by a lengthy, uncomfortable silence.

“What? You wanted… that’s my honest opinion,” the QB continued. “If it’s third and short, he’s not a power back. I be telling him that in the locker room, but he swear he a power back.”

Tyreek Hill praise for young Dolphins duo

Hill did at least attempt to get back in Achane’s good books, and also showed his belief in two of the younger members of the Dolphins roster.

I love De’Von, though, but if I’m being honest, that’s why you got Jaylen Wright, that’s why you got Ollie Gordon, for those kinds of situations.”

De’Von Achane responds to Tyreek Hill

Hill’s comments hint at the duo having had a similar conversation about Achane’s role in the past, and the running back was very quick to respond to his teammate on social media.

Achane’s “That’s how you feel” comeback, accompanied by a face with tears of joy emoji, suggests he wasn’t too offended by Hill’s opinion, although the tone of online posts are famously not always easy to decipher.

Miami Dolphins’ preseason and NFL Week 1 schedule

Let’s hope not for the sake of the Dolphins, who face the Bears (August 10), Lions (August 16) and Jaguars (August 23) in preseason before starting their regular season against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1 (September 7).
