UNC and Colorado State dismiss rumors about Belichick and Coach Prime going to the Cowboys
Despite Belichick signing a new contract to coach in college there is speculation about a possible move the Cowboys.
Recent rumors linking NFL coaching legends Bill Belichick and Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders to the Dallas Cowboys’ head coaching vacancy have been swiftly dismissed by the respective universities.
Both Belichick, currently the head coach at the University of North Carolina (UNC), and Sanders, the head coach at Colorado, have been at the center of speculation, but both programs have refuted the claims.
Sanders and Belichick with no interest on Cowboys role
The rumors about Belichick’s potential move to the Cowboys arose following the departure of Mike McCarthy, but UNC quickly addressed the situation. The university’s General Manager, Mike Lombardi, labeled the rumors as “completely fabricated,” reaffirming that Belichick remains committed to the Tar Heels.
Similarly, rumors about Sanders joining the Cowboys gained traction after his recent conversations with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. Sanders acknowledged these talks, calling the opportunity “intriguing,” but made it clear he had no intentions of leaving his role at Colorado.
