From his teammate Patrick Mahomes who cheekily admitted that he felt ‘a little pressure’ to pass him the ball, to his mother who was seen sitting next to the pop star herself during the Chiefs’ most recent game, it’s clear the signs are there.

Reading the signs: Are Travis Kelce & Taylor an item?

It would appear that the number of individuals around the NFL with an opinion on the possible relationship between Chiefs TE Travis Kelce and pop star Taylor Swift continues to grow. The latest take, however, comes from a source you would never have expected, New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. Before we get to what Belichick said, let’s cover the context for you just in case you’ve not been following. Kansas City Chiefs tight end has been playing sensationally this season and has now scored touchdowns in two consecutive games, the most recent of those came on Sunday when the Chiefs took apart the Chicago Bears.

That of course brings us to a certain pop star who was in attendance and seen sitting next to Kelce’s mother, Donna. That’s right, it was Taylor Swift, who also had a rather funny and NSFW response to Kelce scoring a TD. Now, as you can imagine, with everything that was just mentioned, Swift’s presence, seating arrangement, and reaction only served to push the rumor mill into overdrive where a potential relationship between her and Kelce is concerned.

So, what did Bill Belichick say?

Though you’re probably doubting whether it’s true, yes, Bill Belichick really did have something to say about the potential power couple. Speaking during an interview on “The Greg Hill Show” on Monday, the 8-time Super Bowl winner and three-time NFL Coach of the Year was asked about the new “it” couple, and not only did he have a funny response, but he went on to admit that he might be a “Swiftie” himself.

“Well I would say that Travis Kelce’s had a lot of big catches in his career. This would be the biggest,” Belichick stated with a wry smile. The 71-year-old then went on to disclose that he actually once attended one of Swift’s concerts at Gillette Stadium and was left more than impressed by the fact that she performed for hours during an intense rain storm. “That was pretty impressive. She’s tough, man,” Belichick said. “She just stood out there and played right through it.” We can honestly say that when it comes to the legendary coach, we’ve seen a lot but we definitely didn’t see that one coming.
