What draft position was Aaron Rodgers selected and what college did he play for?
The legendary California quarterback was undoubtedly the big name of the 2005 Draft, and he made history when he was picked.

The 2025 NFL Draft will take place this Thursday, April 24. (April 24-26), and it is an edition whereTravis Hunter and Abdul Carter are the main favourites to be chosen in the number 1 position. These young players will fight for the first spot in the draft that would send them to Tennessee to play for the Titans.
If we stick to the NFL’s star quarterbacks, we find Aaron Rodgers. At 41 years old, and currently without a team and thinking about retirement, he is probably the most experienced veteran head in the competition. However, just a few years ago, Rodgers himself was a rookie.
Today in 2005: Packers officially announce the signing of first-round draft choice Aaron Rodgers. The five-year, $7.7 million contract included $5.4 million in guaranteed money and escalators based on playing time.

In what draft position was Rodgers selected?
Although today, after almost two decades of career in the NFL, Aaron Rodgers has become a true legend of the sport, his arrival in the professional game did not suggest a career that would go in the way that it did.
Rodgers was the twenty-fourth pick in the 2005 draft, which placed him at the bottom of the first round, with the Green Bay Packers the team that acquired the quarterback’s services. Years later, hindsight showed him to be a fantastic pick, despite the fact that the event shone with other important names such as Alex Smith or Braylon Edwards at the forefront of the media attention.

Originally from the municipality of Chico, in the state of California, Rogers spent his entire formative years very close to his home. He took his first steps in American football at Pleasant Valley High School in his hometown. From there, he went to university as a top local talent, but with certain doubts around him at the state level.
Love Allen, awesome guy, but Allen doesn’t know music. Or fashion. @AllenLazard #noburn https://t.co/D3xktPKCzL

NFL Draft: Is there right of refusal?

NFL Draft isn't the NBA-style lottery
Rodgers, in his first year of college, tried to find a scholarship to play at Florida State, but was rejected. The University of Illinois did notice him, but on that occasion it was the player who declined the offer. Finally, he would end up at a minor university in the state of California, Butte College, just 15 kilometres from his home.
After a solid year in his first university adventure, Rodgers was recruited to become the starting quarterback for the Golden Bears of the University of California, a top team that helped him mould his game until the time of the 2005 draft when he became a key member of the Green Bay Packers.
