What is the drama between Cowboys’ Trevon Diggs and Giants’ Malik Nabers?

From the offseason, there’s been a bit of a feud between Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs and Giants rookie WR Malik Nabers. Tonight, it all comes to a head for TNF.

During the offseason, a little online feud started brewing between Dallas Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs and New York Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers. Now, the two players will finally get a chance to face each other as the Giants host the Cowboys for Thursday Night Football.

How the feud between Nabers and Diggs got started

Malik Nabers was the Giants’ first-round pick and sixth overall in the 2024 NFL Draft and so far, he’s proven to be a great one. Through the first three games, Nabers has 23 receptions on 37 targets for 271 yards and three touchdowns, the first player in NFL history with at least 20 receptions, 250 receiving yards, and three receiving touchdowns in his first three career games.

During the offseason, Nabers was asked which defensive back he was most excited to face and his response was Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs.

Diggs is a two-time Pro Bowler and one of the top corners in the league. When Nabers posted the video in which he says he wants to face Diggs, Diggs posted a response: “Giants been getting belt for some years now.”

It’s true that the Cowboys have won 13 of their last 14 meetings. But the back-and-forth between the two continued. Nabers hit back, reposting the same video but this time with a coffin emoji. He later posted a screenshot of these song lyrics from “Boot Up” by NBA YoungBoy: “P***y want to Insta’ beef, he Tweetin’ and I see all of that.” That post has since been deleted. Diggs responded yet again, this time posting the video with a ninja emoji.

What does Nabers have to say now?

Tonight, the two players will face each other for the first time as the Giants host the Cowboys for Thursday Night Football for the first of their two games this season. Their next matchup will be in Week 13 on Thanksgiving.

But now that these two talented players are actually playing against each other in real life, Nabers decided not to fuel the flames of the feud.

When asked if he’s looking forward to the matchup, Nabers said simply, “yeah, I mean, it is what it is, but I don’t really want to talk about it. It’s game time now.” He’ll look to buck the long losing trend the Giants have been on against the Cowboys tonight and let that do the talking.
