What’s the NFL playoff picture as of week 17? What teams are in and out?

It is coming down to the wire with the NFL playoffs still possible for more than half of the league. We take a look at who is still in the hunt.

Entering the final week of the NFL season, the fight for a playoff spot is red hot.

When are the 2023-2024 Playoffs and the 2024 Super Bowl played?

The Wild Card Round starts things off on January 13-15, 2024

The Divisional Round takes place on January 20 and 21, 2024

The Conference Championship games will be played on January 28, 2024

The Super Bowl will be played on February 11, 2024

Which teams have qualified for the 2023-2024 NFL Playoffs so far?

Those classified so far:

  • Going into the final week of the season, the San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Philadelphia Eagles, Los Angeles Rams, and Dallas Cowboys are guaranteed a berth in the NFC.
  • Over in the AFC, the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and Cleveland Browns have all qualified for a spot.

Those eliminated so far:

  • In the AFC, the teams who are already out of the running are the Denver Broncos (8-8), Cincinnati Bengals (8-8), Las Vegas Raiders (7-9), New York Jets (6-10), Tennessee Titans (5-11), Los Angeles Chargers (5-11), and New England Patriots (4-12)
  • In the NFC, the Chicago Bears (7-9), New York Giants (5-11), Washington Commanders (4-12), Arizona Cardinals (4-12), and the Carolina Panthers (2-14) have been eliminated.

The teams with the best record in each Conference advance directly to the Divisional Round. The Baltimore Ravens and the San Francisco 49ers are the top seeds, win or lose in Week 18.

In the Wild Card Round, the 2nd vs. 7th, the 3rd vs. 6th, and the 4th vs. 5th of each Conference will face each other.
