When does the 2025 NFL preseason start? Here’s how many games each team will play?

The NFL season still feels so far away, but the summer always goes by in a blink, so it’ll be here before you know it. And now that the league has announced the full schedule for the 2025-26 season, we know exactly what we have to look forward to.

Before the season starts, we have a month of preseason football to watch as well, starting as soon as Thursday, July 31 with the Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio with the Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Chargers kicking things off.

We’ll then have three more weeks of preseason NFL games starting on Thursday, August 7 and concluding on Sunday, August 24. There, we’ll get our first real look at how the rookies from the NFL Draft fare. Here’s all the information on the 2025-26 NFL preseason games.
