Update:

As Hurricane Ian continues to wreak havoc in west Florida, many sports games scheduled for this weekend have been affected. That includes the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Kansas City Chiefs game that was supposed to take place this Sunday at 8:20 p.m. ET at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The Buccaneers moved their practices to South Florida this week as the NFL continues to monitor the path of Hurricane Ian. The team left on Tuesday to conduct practices at the Miami Dolphins’ Baptist Health Training Complex.

As of right now, the game is still set to take place as scheduled in Tampa. As the league continues to monitor the situation though, that could very well change. If the game does end up being relocated, it would be to Minneapolis at the Minnesota Vikings’ home stadium, U.S. Bank Stadium. The Vikings are playing the New Orleans Saints in London, England this week, leaving the stadium free to use. The league is expected to make a decision by this Friday.

“Our thoughts are with the city of Tampa right now. Where we have to play, hopefully it is Tampa and everything is fine. That means we’re not damaged too much,” Bucs coach Todd Bowles said. “If we have to go play elsewhere, we just have to focus and lock in. No one’s going to feel sorry for us. We’ve got to be ready to play.”
