As Super Bowl 2024 comes to an end New Orleans will start to get ready to host the 2025 game, Super Bowl LIX. The game will take place at the Caesars Superdome, the home of the New Orleans Saints, on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

This will be the eighth time that New Orleans hosts the Super Bowl, the most of any city in the country, tying with Miami. The city has a rich history and culture, and is known for its music, cuisine, and Mardi Gras celebrations. The Super Bowl will bring thousands of visitors, media, and celebrities to the city, and generate millions of dollars in revenue and economic impact.

New Orleans was already poised to host the 2024 Super Bowl

New Orleans was originally scheduled to host the 2024 Super Bowl, but the date was changed due to a conflict with Mardi Gras, which falls on February 13, 2024. The NFL agreed to move the game to 2025, and awarded the 2024 Super Bowl to Las Vegas, which will host the event for the first time at the Allegiant Stadium, the home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The last time that New Orleans hosted the Super Bowl was in 2013, when the Baltimore Ravens defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl XLVII. The game was memorable for the 34-minute power outage that occurred in the third quarter, causing a delay in the action and a momentum shift for the 49ers, who nearly staged a comeback.
