Who are the Los Angeles Rams’ best players in the team’s history?

The Los Angeles Rams have had a successful and decorated run since the franchise began in 1936. They won two NFL championships before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger, and one Super Bowl. An excellent track record is proof that the team has produced an abundance of outstanding players.

So far, the organization boasts 21 Hall of Famers- 19 of them players. The Rams 2022 season and victory in Super Bowl LVI brought back memories of some the team’s legends.

Here are some of the athletes with standout achievements in Rams history.

Deacon Jones (1961-1971)

Deacon Jones was a defensive end who missed only three games during his stint with the Rams. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1980, the five-time All Pro is credited with coining the term “sacking the quarterback”. Jones is one of the most dominant pass rushers of all time. He’s a five-time sacks leader and eight-time Pro Bowler.

WR Isaac Bruce (1994-2007)

Isaac Bruce was a wide receiver who was only recently inducted into the Hall of Fame (2020). He holds the franchise’s record in receptions with 942, touchdown catches with 91, and amassed 15,208 receiving yards, which is also the fifth all-time league record. A four-time Pro Bowler, he is recognized as one of the biggest contributors to the Ram’s single Super Bowl ring.

Jack Youngblood (1971-1984)

Jack Youngblood was a defensive end who played for the Rams his entire professional football career of fourteen seasons. He played college football for the University of Florida and is considered one of its all-time best players. The seven-time Pro Bowler joined the Hall of Fame in 2001. He eventually ventured into broadcasting, acting, and even wrote an autobiography.

Kurt Warner (1998-2003)

Quarterback Kurt Warner did not stay long with the Rams, but the team certainly felt his impact. He helped lead the Rams to victory in Super Bowl XXXIV, and was declared Super Bowl MVP. He had league-high numbers in touchdown passes in 1999 with 41, and in 2001 with 36. He had a 97.2 passer rating, which is the highest in franchise history. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017.

Eric Dickerson (1983-1987)

Eric Dickerson was a running back who racked up a number of rookie records in his first season with the Rams, for which he was named All-Pro, Player of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and received Pro Bowl honors. Dickerson set the NFL’s single-season record for rushing, with 2,105 yards. He was a six-time Pro Bowler and was welcomed into the Hall of Fame in 1999.
