Since the offseason, they have signed those who will be the generals in the attack. First, they acquired the services of free agent quarterback Russell Wilson (who had a stint with the Denver Broncos) and quarterback Justin Fields in a trade with the Chicago Bears, in addition to the departure of Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky.
Troy Fautanu: Pick 20, Primer Ronda
During this draft, the AFC North team chose offensive tackle Troy Fautanu from the University of Washington with its first selection (Pick number 20). Fautanu was a leading member of the Huskies team that competed for the national title in NCAA college football.
Troy Fuatanu was named to the Pac-12 All-Team and won the Morris Trophy for best lineman in the conference.

Zach Frasier: Pick 51, Second Round
For their second pick, the Steelers stuck with a new addition on the offensive line with center Zach Frazier of West Virginia with the 51st overall pick, who will compete with starting center Nate Herbig.

Roman Wilson: Pick 84, Third Round
During the third round of the draft, the Steelers made their Pick 84 and chose Roman Wilson, a wide receiver from the Michigan Wolverines, who finished as a national champion this year. Over four seasons, Wilson caught 107 passes for 1,707 yards and 12 touchdown passes, all 12 of which were caught in the previous season alone. In the offseason, Pittsburgh lost wide receiver Diontae Johnson in a trade with the Carolina Panthers for cornerback Donte Jackson.

Payton Wilson: Pick 98, Third Round
Pittsburgh made their second pick of the third round and selected Payton Wilson, a linebacker from N.C. State. During his college years, Wilson was honored with the Chuck Bednarik Defensive Player of the Year Award and the Butkus Award, recognizing him as the best linebacker in the United States. In 2023, he was also awarded the ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

Mason McCormick (G): Pick 119, Fourth Round
The Pittsburgh Steelers chose Mason McCormick from the South Dakota State Jackrabbits as their Pick 119 in the Draft’s fourth round. McCormick is an offensive lineman who has a great deal of experience. He started 57 games during college, all at the left guard position. Furthermore, he played in a total of 70 games.

Logan Lee (DT): Pick 178, Sixth Round

Lee, who is 23 years old, served as the captain of the Hawkeyes team in 2023 and tallied 55 tackles and three sacks. Ryan Watts (CB): Pick 195, Sixth Round
The Pittsburgh franchise selected defensive back Ryan Watts from the University of Texas in the sixth round of the NFL Draft, with the 195th overall pick. Watts played two seasons with the Longhorns after transferring from Ohio State. During his stay with Texas, he played in 24 games, starting 23, recording 89 tackles, 63 of them solo.
