Why doesn’t Philadelphia Eaglies’ Darius Slay want Taylor Swift present when they play the Kansas City Chiefs?

Recent weeks have seen Taylor Swift sit with Travis Kelce’s mom, inspire NFL TV ratings records, spike ticket prices, and get her own Heinz sauce. There was also football.

Update:

Whether it’s because of the pop star’s presence or simply because the defending Super Bowl champions are intent on picking up where they left off last season, the end result is the same: They are winning. That’s precisely why the Eagles star doesn’t want to entertain the possibility of any lucky charms.

Darius Slay doesn’t want Taylor Swift present when the Eagles play the Chiefs

Whether she’s actually dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce or not is irrelevant at this point, what is certain is that Taylor Swift has taken over the NFL, and for its part, the league has embraced every moment of it. Indeed, just earlier this week the NFL had to defend its increased focus on Swift after Kelce himself said he felt it was “overdoing it a little bit.” That being said, the Chiefs have performed sensationally in their last two games, both of which were attended by Swift. Is there a correlation? Who knows, but there’s one Philadelphia Eagles player who isn’t taking any chances.

Speaking during a recent episode of his podcast, “Big Play Slay,” Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay admitted that he would prefer if Swift wasn’t present for his team’s Monday night game against the Chiefs in Week 11. “Taylor Swift, she might not miss a game this year and it looks like [they’re] 2-0 with her,” Slay said. “If we play her, when we play her, I know we play them (on the road), Taylor, do not come to the game. Do not come to the game because you seem like you bring the energy of winning. So, do not come to that game.”

Will Taylor Swift be there in Week 11?

Sadly, we don’t have the answer to that question, and truth be told there has been no official word on whether Swift will continue to attend the Chiefs’ games. What’s more, is that the “Shake It Off” singer will actually be back on tour in November when the game is due to be played which means it could be difficult. On the other hand, she’s set to be free on the day of the actual game: November 20th. That’s to say, should she want to attend the rematch of this year’s Super Bowl, there would be nothing stopping her from doing so. Frankly, one has to imagine that with Slay now airing his thoughts, there’s even a bit of motivation for her to turn up.

If you’re wondering, Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour will begin on November 9th, in South America with three shows in Argentina, followed by three in Rio De Janeiro. The last of those shows in Brazil will be on November 19th, meaning that in theory, she could make it to the game on the 20th given that she doesn’t restart her tour until the 24th. As stated before, there’s no guarantee she will be there on November 11th, but you can rest assured that if she does show up, the cameras will once again be focused on her, and undoubtedly on Slay as well since he is the one who asked her not to come.
